Carla M. Jones is an Independent Journalist, Publicist and CEO of Carla Mechele Media, LLC.

Established in 2015, the agency provides Storytelling with Strategy to clients in the Non-Profit, Education, Health, Travel, Entertainment, Political, Business, Arts and Media industries.

Carla Mechele Media’s core services are Reporting, Producing, Publicity and Social Media.

Carla has 19 years’ experience in the media industry, including work with ABC News (Good Morning America, World News Now), Inside Edition, First Coast News, NPR and ESPN. 

Carla Mechele Media has secured client features on Today Show, Huffington Post, The Grio, Spotify and more. 

As an Independent Journalist, Carla Mechele reports on little known Black History facts year-long. In 2020, she established a deal with Minneapolis-based independent journalism network BLCKPress to contribute original black history content. She is also a contributing reporter for The Black Tourist. 

Carla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Florida (2007), and a Minor in Political Science.

In 2013, as a reporter for CW17’s IKnowJax, Carla Mechele became the first woman TV anchor/reporter to wear locs on-air in Jacksonville.

Carla has also been recognized as one of Top 20 Under 40 professionals in Jacksonville by First Coast Black Pages in 2015; City of Jacksonville Film and Television Rising Star Award in 2016; and a “Community Pearl Leader Under 40 Changing Lives” by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
